Artfull Living Debuts in Downtown Business District!
Artfull Living , the downtown walking tour featuring local artists matched with downtown venues, kicked off on Thursday, September 29th. Beginning at the Church Street Café, art lovers were treated to a walking tour, led by Mayor Remsen and Deputy Mayor Michaelson. Receptions took place for the various artists along the tour route, which covered Bloomfield Ave., South Fullerton Ave., Glenridge Ave., South Park Street and Church Street. Art lovers viewed juried works by local artists and were able to meet the featured artist at each receptions site. The gala evening was organized by the Restaurant & Retail Committee of the BID.
Art enthusiasts are encouraged to continue to participate in this ongoing event by taking the free, self-guided tour to each location, which will house each artist’s work for at least two months. When asked about the evening, Cheryl Spinelli said "We thought the event went very well and look forward to the program’s continued growth. The longterm goal is for there to be a continuous supply of rotating art which will remain year-round in various locations in the downtown business district so that we can emphasize our unique Art Industry and create a stronger atmosphere of support for our fine league of talent, while bringing art into our every day lives".
For more information regarding self guided tours, maps are available at Church Street Café, 12 Church Street, near the corner of South Fullerton.
