MONTCLAIR, NEW JERSEY (January 26, 2006) — It was announced today that Church Street Café has established a PTA Lunch Club and will be donating a portion of their weekday lunch sales over the next four months to local PTA organizations. After dining, restaurant patrons can sign the Lunch Club book and register the receipt for the amount that has been spent in support of their favorite school. In the beginning of June the results will be tallied up and the Café will forward a check to each participating school’s PTA.
The PTA Lunch Club was the brainchild of Church Street Café owner Cheryl Spinelli who stated, “Since opening our restaurant a year and a half ago, I haven’t had the time to do some of the things I was able to do for the school district when I was an at-home mom. Having two boys in the district and being committed to public education, it is difficult to sit back and not help the way I was able to in the past, especially after eleven years of various volunteer activities, including five years as PTA president. After some thought, however, I was able to come up with a way that I could make a contribution through the restaurant.”
Spinelli continued, “The idea actually occurred to me when I was thinking about the Dine Out For Grads program which we are participating in again on February 8. That is a very successful fundraiser for Montclair High and I am hoping that the PTA Lunch Club will be a great way to spread it around to all of the schools in the area. It’s really a no-brainer for the schools, as they don't have to do anything but let their constituents know about the program.”
Church Street Café is open seven days weekly for Dinner, Lunch, Breakfast and Weekend Brunch. The kitchen opens at and never closes before ( Friday & Saturday). Live music is featured Wednesday through Sunday evenings.
Church Street Café is located at 12 Church Street Montclair NJ 07042
